KCMO The Linda Hall Climate Symposium will be held Friday October 16th from 8:00am to 4:30pm at the Linda Hall Library-5109 Cherry St. KCMO 64110. Top scientists in the field of Climatology will lecture on the burgeoning issue of Climate Change and Global Warming. Speakers include symposium moderator Neil Degrasse Tyson, Thomas Lovejoy, James Rodger Fleming, Johannes Feddema, Gavin Schmidt, Richard S. Lindzen, Robert Mendohlson, and David R. Foster. The next global rally-October 24th 2009- is being organized by www.350.org. Kansas City will certainly be a part of this concerted effort.

For more info contact Catherine Tronnes: catherine@utptowntheater.com Upcoming Events: ============================ JCCC Sustainability Expo & Dinner Regnier Center – JCCC September 10th, 2009 … 4pm-9pm Sustainability Expo & Dinner September 10th, 2009 JCCC will be hosting a “Sustainability Expo & Dinner’ at the Regnier Center. Area farmers will have booths to display information about their farms. Some of the vendors will have product to taste. All vendors will be available to talk and discuss the process which they go through to get the product from the field to the plate. Most of the discussion will be about the importance of communities reverting back to sustaining their communities with local products. This process, in return, will help our community erase the effects of our carbon foot print. Ecco Elvis will perform right before the doors open for the dinner. Product from the JCCC Student Farm, as well as other products from the expo vendors, will be incorporated into the five course meal. A special documentary about “family Farm Memories” will be presented. Cost for the dinner is $65.00 per person.
